Cornish beaches are gorgeous, my favourite is Harlyn Beach which is just around the corner from this site.
For children, Tide is about a mile away which is a climbing/bouldering centre.
Into Newquay there is Newquay Zoo, Better Trampoline Park and the Aquapark - I would recommend booking before you visit.
Porth Beach is very nice, lots of rock pools to explore when the tide goes out.
Mevagissey is another favourite of mine, not usually as busy as Padstow, a small fishing harbour with a very small beach area, a few shops but independent traders with lots of handmade treasures and a lovely long harbour wall.
Watergate Bay is huge, lots of room so you don’t feel crowded. There is a really good surf school. They hire everything there so you don’t need to take anything with you.
The ritual is to visit all the Seven Bays whilst staying in Padstow. There is also a stunning Lighthouse at Trevose Head, can get quite windy up there though.
You can hire bicycles in Padstow from the first car park at the bottom of the hill and cycle the Camel Trail, a beautiful scenic flat route. There are refreshment stands half way along the trail. I would recommend parking at the Wadebridge car park and go into Padstow. Padstow car parks can get very busy.
You can also take the Ferry across to Rock, the beach over there is beautiful.
Scenic Walks, Watersports, Golf Course, Amusements, Pubs/Clubs, Theme Park, Takeaways, Fishing, Historical Attractions, Shops, Padstow Harbour, Camel Trail - So much to do, it’s just such a wonderful place - and then there’s also The Eden Project and a day out to Lands End with pictures next to the infamous sign :), St Ives ….……
